A BIT ABOUT MY SKATEBOARDING JOURNEY
My mom always had this really cool skateboard deck hanging up in our house. The nailed vintage maroon and mustard deck struck my curiosity. "Where did you skate this mom? How long ago did you learn?!" She always taught me mind over matter, and if you can vision it you can do it. From this, the seed of skateboarding was planted into my mind as a kid. Naturally, I asked for a skateboard for christmas. I spent years just learning how to cruise around my coldesack, tick tacking every corner of my driveway. It wasn't until I was living in Hawaii that I decided to learn to skate ramps. My friends would bring me along with them to Banzai, and watching them rip around the skatepark simply wasn't enough for me. Sure I knew how to push around, but a big concrete park like that is intimidating for only knowing how to tick tack. Once I learned to drop in, I started to progressively learn to skate. Now as a Skateboarding Instructor, I have made countless special connections and friendships with all the people I've worked with. Through time spent with so many diverse kids, I developed my own unique and effective teaching methods. Every one is unique in how they will learn and it will be at their very own pace. I focus on getting kids to connect their body to their mind all the while filtering out fear. Through MODDOW we focus on love.
A BIT ABOUT MY ART JOURNEY
Ever since I was little I've loved to create. Any mediums I could get my hands on, I was making a mess! Growing up I was most inspired by my grandma who's an artist herself. She would send me these cute packages of expensive art supplies and I would basically just get to work. Right now I'm focusing on acrylic skate/surf themed art on wooden canvases, as well as diving into the sea of graphic designs.
